She then added the hashtags #eastenders and #longtimenosee, tagging @theshanerichie. The 53-year-old Nina is well known for her roles as Mrs. Hussein in the BBC sitcom Still Open All Hours, Zainab Masood in the BBC soap opera EastEnders, and as the lead of the BBC Two sketch series Goodness Gracious Me.

She admitted earlier this year that she had grown weary of portraying the disagreeable Zainab. I don’t have anything against the job, the soap opera star added. On that show, I had six and a half of the best years of my life. I don’t object to what was done to the character, either.

“I simply got tired of her. I had no idea that after portraying a character for so long, you start to resemble them just a little bit. “You’re bringing her home with you,” my husband [Raiomond Mirza] remarked to me, she added. You’re a real snoozer!

Zainab was a figure that people adored to despise, Nina said. There would have been serious problems if I had totally transformed like her. On BBC One, BBC EastEnders is still airing.
