EastEnders spoilers: Billy arrested for murder as DCI Keeble gets what she wants

After DCI Keeble (Alison Newman) had Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) arrested for murder, Mitchell broke down in tears on EastEnders, terrified of the prospect of spending the rest of his life in prison for a crime he didn’t commit.

As viewers are aware, the long-running mainstay is the target of Keeble’s hate campaign against the Mitchell family after her father passed away as a result of the family’s involvement in a crime in the late 1970s.

The incident was revealed in a flashback episode that aired earlier this week. Mitchell patriarch Eric shot and killed Keeble’s father Macolm, a security guard at a warehouse.

In addition to being present on the relevant night, Billy also acquired the murder weapon, a fact Keeble only recently learned, which is what caused her sudden desire for vengeance.
However, Keeble was going after Kat (Jessie Wallace) and fabricating charges in an effort to get her arrested, so Phil (Steve McFadden) had no choice but to comply with her demands and make a statement supporting Billy’s involvement in the notorious crime.

poor Billy.

On Wednesday’s (September 7) episode of the BBC One soap opera, Phil, who of course intends to withdraw the statement before it can go to trial, devised a temporary scheme to remove Billy from the country.

While Billy was pleased to be considered worthy enough to take part in such a deal, he declined to leave Walford. He convinced Billy that his presence was essential in Portugal as part of a significant business deal he was supervising.

Phil was forced to tell Billy the truth because he had no other option.

As you can imagine, Billy was terrified of the prospect of spending the rest of his life in prison and simultaneously heartbroken and horrified.

He should pack his bags and be prepared to leave at a moment’s notice, Phil told him, assuring him that he won’t let anything bad happen.

In order to prepare for his departure, Billy met Phil at The Vic after bidding his children Janet and Will, as well as his soulmate Honey (Emma Barton), a tearful farewell.

However, Keeble showed up with a group of police officers and delightedly informed Billy that he had been arrested for killing her father.

Will Billy be sentenced to prison for a crime he didn’t commit? Will Phil have a secret scheme in mind? Or did Keeble pull off the seemingly impossible and surprise Phil?
