Neighbours confirms legendary stars for Australian date of Celebration Tour

Madge and Harold have joined the team.

For the Australian leg of the 2018 Celebration Tour, Neighbours has announced a star-studded lineup that promises to be fantastic.

In March, familiar faces from the soap opera will perform on stage in various UK cities before an Australian performance on April 16 in Melbourne.

The Australian date will have a different cast, the organisers have recently revealed.

Following their participation in the UK dates, Alan Fletcher (Karl Kennedy), Annie Jones (Jane Harris), and April Rose Pengilly (Chloe Brennan) will all participate.

The actors who played the renowned pair Harold and Madge Bishop, Ian Smith and Anne Charleston, will also be present.

Tim Kano (Leo Tanaka) and Lucinda Cowden (Melanie Pearson) have also signed up, but the fun doesn’t end there.

Jennifer Hansen, a newsreader, radio host, and journalist, will be in charge of hosting.

According to a tour statement, “The unique production will feature legendary cast members and look back on the amazing past of the adored show while predicting its bright future.

“Fans of Neighbours will be able to relive some of their favourite Ramsay Street scenes from the past 35 years during this event.

The audience will be given the opportunity to ask the cast their own pressing issues and be exposed to hitherto untold Erinsborough anecdotes.

Tickets can be purchased through the venue’s website for the event, which is held at Melbourne’s Hamer Hall. Meet and greet chances are also scheduled, same like the UK dates.

Neighbours was cancelled by UK broadcaster Channel 5 in July of last year. The reappearance of illustrious former cast members like Guy Pearce, Jason Donovan, and Kylie Minogue was part of a historic conclusion episode.

Thankfully, it was later revealed that Amazon had stepped in to save the day by ordering fresh Neighbours episodes for its free streaming service, Freevee.

The new season will premiere in the second half of 2023, while classic episodes will air on Freevee later this week.
