‘This monster ruined my life’: Former Neighbours star Madeleine West, 42, claims she was sexually abused as a child

Madeleine West has launched a true crime podcast to bring attention to the troubling topic after claiming she was sexually molested as a youngster by a “monster.”

The 42-year-old Melbourne native and former Neighbours star has now shared her tale with the world after keeping it a secret for many years in an effort to aid those who are in need.

From 2000 to 2020, Madeline intermittently portrayed Dione “Dee” Bliss and Andrea Somers in the soap opera. In 2007, she also starred in the WWE film The Condemned.

According to Madeleine, the accused abuser resided in the same town as her and the abuse was frequent, occasionally occurring every day. She gave no additional information about the attack and made no mention of the accused abuser.

Regarding the alleged assault, she told The Sun, “This monster shattered my life. I’ve survived, yeah, but I’m also proud to claim the title of victim.

Justice is attainable. You are not at fault; it was never your fault and never will be.

“I’m looking for justice now.” Anyone online who is observing, posting, or harming a youngster has run out of time. The wheel is in motion.

Together with former investigator Gary Jubelin, she has now started a new podcast called Predatory to bring attention to the problem of paedophilia.

On Saturday, the former Neighbours star posted a vintage photo of herself at a birthday celebration to Instagram along with a sombre statement.

I was born Melanie Ann, the woman wrote. I’ve detested her for the majority of my life. When I was a little child, I held her responsible for some pretty heinous things that occurred to her and to me.

Little Melanie was blamed for it, it was said. And I had faith in it. I escaped Melanie as far as I could, she said, “so far that I even changed my identity.”

Justice will be done, even though my complete tale is not yet ready to be shared. In an effort to stop the rot, Gary Jubelin, a former investigator, and I have teamed together.

According to the mother of six, her podcast will act as a “checklist” for parents on how to recognise predatory behaviour against children.

“This series offers expert suggestions for what to watch out for and serves as a checklist for parents, carers, and society at large…” A manual for safeguarding children,” she wrote.

Many of Madeleine’s 92,000 followers were quick to commend her for having the guts to speak up.

The podcast, according to one supporter, “is how you change the world.” You might be the catalyst for one child’s world to improve.

Madeleine received comments such as “you should be so proud of yourself” from one person and “brave, resilient, and inspiring” from another.

The celebrity will advocate for revisions to the law to appropriately recompense victims and is also advocating for an Australian national public child sex register.

Paedophiles can be “exceptionally calculated” in their pursuit of their goals, and individuals frequently “look the other way,” especially when the abusers are a part of their “inner circle,” according to Madeleine.

She noted that because they operate in a position of trust, child predators are frequently not viewed as “strange” by the general public.

Madeleine also revealed to the Herald Sun that they frequently pose as close friends or family members and take advantage of their position of trust to approach kids.

We give ourselves comfort by believing that paedophiles are weirdos, but they are not, she continued. They creep into your life in a sneaky way.

Mr. Jubelin emphasised that removing the chance to commit an offence was essential to stopping this terrible crime.

To combat any kind of crime, he declared, “you must establish a secure environment where it cannot thrive.”

The serial actress also discussed how she constantly accompanies her six children on outings to the playground and birthday celebrations since she is determined not to take any chances with them.

It happens as she gets ready to run for the NSW state legislature in 2023 as an independent.

In a March 2016 interview with Studio 10, the soap star declared her ambition to run for politics.

The Byron Bay-based philanthropist admitted to growing impatient with how the NSW government handled the disaster after spending weeks assisting flood recovery efforts in Northern NSW.

Sarah Harris and Tristan MacManus, the hosts of Studio 10, applauded as she declared, “I’m not agitating to see change anymore; I want to be change.”
