The upcoming episodes of Coronation Street promise to be a blockbuster week as Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson) appears destined to perish in a horrifying final showdown complete with assassins, shootings, graves, and rooftop stunts.
Kelly realizes too late that she can’t back out of her demand that Gary Windass (Mikey North) be killed, and the two soon find themselves in a life-or-death struggle unlike any other.
Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce), who is trying to mislead Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls), is also fighting for his future.
He would have gotten away with it too if not for the arrival of his irate wife and Leo, his next-door neighbor, who dug.
In another scene, Hayley’s renowned anorak is accidentally donated to a charity, which upsets Roy Cropper (David Neilson). But fear not, brave Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) is there to save the day.
Monday September 19
As Kelly muses over Gary, she goes up to Todd and poses as speaking on behalf of a friend to inquire if he has any sketchy contacts. Todd says it would be best for her to contact the police.
When Kelly is summoned to the station to identify her kidnapper, Craig presents her with some pictures, one of which features Kieron, but Kelly pretends she has never seen him before. Outside the police station, Kelly approaches Kieron and makes him an offer of £10k to kill Gary because Craig is upset. Will he concur?
The Platts decide to leave while Leo conducts a thorough survey after a panicked David says he believes the garden sinkhole is about to reopen. Leo notices Stephen’s unease when Audrey says they can all stay with her.
Leo tells Jenny that he thinks Stephen is a little strange, as if he’s concealing something. Jenny masks her anxiety but has Leo stumbled on something more?
Bernie, who is in need of some extra money, convinces Nina to allow her to thoroughly clean the apartment for Roy’s birthday. Bernie suggests they give the box of used clothing they found to a charity. Nina, however, misses Hayley’s red anorak in the box. How will Roy respond when he realizes the anorak has vanished?
Wednesday 21st September
They have tickets for Bangkok, Kelly tells Aadi, but she forgets to mention that they are one-way. Kelly is overcome with emotion as their engagement party is taking place at the bistro.
Gary says some kind words about Kelly and how much they love having her as a member of their family as Rick shows up in Kelly’s thoughts. Kelly runs out of the bistro after telling Gary that she knows he killed her father while rage is burning in her eyes.
When Gary chases her down, he is horrified to see her standing next to a van with Kieron. Kelly tells Kieron he’ll get the rest of his money after Gary is dead as Gary is being knocked out and thrown into the van.
Kelly, however, is left wondering what she did as the van speeds off. Gary is led through the woods to the location of Rick’s murder, where Kieron and his sidekick Al order him to dig his own grave while brandishing a gun.
After paying for their spa day, Stephen makes sure Gail and Audrey have left. Leo questions why he’s lying as he claims to have enjoyed a night in a luxurious hotel. After returning early from her spa day, Audrey shares that she discovered an estate agent’s valuer at her house, who informed her that Stephen had scheduled the visit.
Leo is interested as Stephen is thrown. Can Stephen convince himself to change his mind? And as the two men clash, will Leo divulge what he knows about Stephen?
Roy recognizes the model train Evelyn gives him for his birthday as being his own. Evelyn instructs Roy to start the Woody after realizing that the train must have come from the same charity shop as Hayley’s anorak.
Friday 23rd September
Gary informs Aadi that Kelly is in danger and that they must find her phone and pursue her. Kieron takes Kelly to the roof of a shuttered mill and explains his scheme to kill her and blame her for Gary’s death, making it appear as though it was a murder-suicide. Kelly loses color.
Gary and Aadi are shocked to see Kelly on the roof after spotting Kieron’s van. Kieron is about to push Kelly off the roof when Gary appears out of nowhere and orders Kieron to kill him instead. Who has been shot as the gun fires?
Stephen prevents David from calling the police despite his threats. Jenny follows Leo as he storms out, having a lot to explain! David questions Stephen about the reasons the valuer showed up at Audrey’s house and why he spent the night in his car.
Stephen’s heart sinks to see Gabrielle at the door when they are interrupted mid-row by a knock. Will she come clean? Stephen is told by Leo that it is obvious that he is lying to his family and about his financial situation, and that he plans to find out why.
Evelyn storms into the thrift store and rips Joy’s anorak off her back. Joy is left perplexed as Evelyn exits the building. When Evelyn returns with the anorak, how will Roy respond?
